Broni

What light breaks through yonder window and disturbs my sleep!  Guess that means it's time for an early morning NBSR.

Right off the bat, anyone who gives reference to; the simpsons, mario kart, and batman, must already be an amazing person.  I'm talking about none other than the Australian singer/songwritter Broni.  Just by reading his bio it sounds as though he has a huge heart and a great head on his shoulders, with everything seeming so intimite.  Albums include; "Every Thought I've Had Since I Was 10," "To Get Her Together," EP "Live At Lestats," and a few singles.

The first song I listened to of Broni was "Made Up Your Mind," and all I could think was, ugh not another folk pop singer.  But as I listened and watched a few of his vlogs and got deeper into his music, I started to really enjoy everything that was out there.

From what I'm seeing from his vlogs on youtube, he seems very down to earth and very personal.  It was almost like the only word I could find to best describe him was "friend."  He just seems like a guy you'd wanna go grab a few pints with or watch the game with, and you'd both laugh and joke around all night without the conversation ever becoming stale.

Every song sounds as though he's putting his whole heart and soul into everything he does, whether its a love song or a song about friendship, he captures you through the beauty and simplisity of everything.  His deep emotionfilled lyrics let you lose yourself thinking about the past, and before you know it, you're half way through an album nodding along.

Most of the songs consist of an accoustic guitar and some light percussion, which brings the atmosphere back invard reflecting upon yourself.  There are a few songs (more on the second album) with a full band behind him.  And that makes the energy only shifts forward, never losing the dynamics and intimacy of when it's him.  It seems like no matter what style he's playing, he'd always be able to keep an audience upclose and personal.

The lyrics tend to touch a deep emotional level which easily connects the audience, but also range up to the point where all you can do is laugh (especially live).  The songs are emotional, heart-felt, intimate, reflective.  Broni has captured his own soul and projects it for all the world to hear.  Without a doubt in my head, Broni is in it for the music and thats all you can say when you listen to his albums.  By taking his life and exposing it to the world, thats what makes him such a great artist.

I've only seen a few of his live performances, but he easily connects to the audience making you like family as he plays and talks and laughs and jokes and shares.  If more people in the world were like Broni, I think the world would be a better and much happier place.

All of his songs are put up on his website for FREE.  But if you want something a little more personal, (and live within 100km of him in Australia; his postcode is 3136) he will not only HAND DELIEVER the ablum, but also PLAY for you.  Of course for these, currency is exchanged, but think of the value; 15km is 30$, 25km is 50$, 50km is 75$, and 100km is 100$.  To me, that is just the most amazing thing ever.  Taken from his website, "Think about it. Everytime you play my record you'll remember the crazy way in which you received it. It's a memory that will last until you can no longer remember it."

I highly recommend checking out Broni on his website "http://www.bronimusic.com/" and following him on youtube "https://www.youtube.com/user/bronibronimusic"  and twitter @bronibroni.

Best wishes to Broni and I hope one day to see you play live.
